1. Introduction
This privacy policy is for The Unaware Wares (“we”, “us”, “our”), launched in June 2026, which runs this website as an online shop to sell wares to site users, which is considered our Service. It describes how and why your personal information may be collected, stored, used, or disclosed if you use our Services, including visiting this site, or purchasing wares.
We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so, for example, to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better. By using our services, you acknowledge you have read this privacy policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here. We may process information considered sensitive in some locations; credit or debit card information, and purchase history. We take reasonable precautions to protect your data, but please note that no transmission over the internet can be considered to be 100% secure.
Web services are provided to us by WordPress, to run the site, and WooCommerce, to run the shop, which are both part of Automattic, as well as by Hostinger, for website hosting and infrastructure. The privacy policy for Automattic can be viewed at https://automattic.com/privacy. The privacy policy for Hostinger can be viewed at https://www.hostinger.com/legal/privacy-policy. Payments are collected and processed through Sumup, whose privacy policy can be viewed by selecting the relevant page at https://www.sumup.com/.
2. What information is collected and why
Information collected when you purchase wares is requested directly from you and disclosed with your permission, which includes your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information, and, if you create an account on this site, your username and password. As well as this, your IP address is collected if you try to log in to an account on this site.
The information we collect from you is on the basis of legitimate interest.
The information provided by you with your order is used to place your order, what you ordered and where to send it, including returns, exchanges, or other transactions, which is providing our Service. Your email address may be used for communication, to send order confirmations or information related to your order, and to respond to any questions or complaints. These are also considered performance of a contract. The information about orders placed is also necessary for keeping accurate business and financial records. To protect accounts, we process the IP addresses linked to attempts to log in. This data is used exclusively for security purposes and to block malicious automated login attempts
3. Disclosure to third parties
If you place an order, your name, shipping address, and what you ordered is disclosed to a third party for the purpose of order fulfilment. This data is processed using Mintsoft, whose privacy policy can be found at https://www.mintsoft.com/privacy-policy/. If you place an order, your name and shipping address is passed on to couriers, so they can deliver your order.
4. International transfers
Some of our service providers or their systems, which are named in this Privacy Policy, may be located outside the UK or European Economic Area (EEA). Where your personal data is transferred internationally, the transfer will use safeguards to protect your information. These third parties have published Data processing agreements on the handling of any transfers.
5. Data security measures
The web service providers WordPress and WooCommerce both use SSL encryption for data transmission. Payments are collected through Sumup, a PCI-compliant service.
We regularly update our systems to protect against vulnerabilities. We would respond promptly to any security incidents. Site users are encouraged to practice security measures as well. If you create an account, please use a strong password and keep the login details secure.
6. Your rights
We are located in the UK, and Under UK data protection legislation, you have rights in relation to your personal data, with some exceptions. These include the right to:
· be informed about how your data is being used
· access personal data
· have incorrect data updated
· have data erased
· stop or restrict the processing of your data
· data portability (allowing you to get and reuse your data for different services)
· object to how your data is processed in certain circumstances
If you make any requests to us relating to your data, we will need to verify your identity to make sure it’s the same person the data is from. Any requests will be responded to within one month. This can be extended by two more months for complex requests, which you would be informed of within the initial response. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) about handling of your data, and more information is available on the ICO website.
7. Age requirements
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age. If we learn that personal information from users under the age of 18 has been collected, we will delete the data from our records.
8. How long we keep your data
How long your data is kept for varies based on the type of data and why it was collected, but we generally discard information about you when it’s no longer needed for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we’re not legally required to keep it.
